LIBRARY GUIDELINES

I. GENERAL LIBRARY POLICY

​

The following must be observed upon availing the services of the library. 

​

  1. The library is open to student’s use for the school year 2023-2024.

  2. Only the officially enrolled students are allowed to avail the library services.

  3. All library queries and requests must be done through the online facilities.

  4. Parents, guardians or authorized representatives are allowed to pick up the books requested. Students are not allowed to do so.

  5. Browsing of books inside the premises is not allowed. 

  6. Wearing a face mask and face shield is required upon getting the books requested.

  7. Social distancing of two meter must be practiced.

  8. Wearing of face mask and face shield is a must.
     

 

II. LIBRARY SERVICES

  A. Request and Pick-up Service

Gideon Academy library is committed to providing students expanded safe access to physical materials through a request and pick-up service. Physical library remains closed for student’s use.

 

   

Procedure in Borrowing and Returning:

 

1. Reserve the books
1.1.  Reservation of books shall be done at Gideon Academy Library’s official website
1.2. Fill up the borrower’s form from the “Service – Request and pick up” tab. 
1.3. Students can only borrow 3 books at a time.
1.4. Book suggestion is also allowed if the book is not available in the library.

2. Watch for email confirmation

2.1. An email confirmation will be sent to the student’s official school email address.

2.2. If the item is available, the email will contain your pick up schedule. 

2.3. If the item is unavailable, the email will contain the reasons and actions to be taken.

 

 

3. Pick-up the books

3.1. Student’s representative shall pick up the books at the given schedule.

3.2. If the student’s representative is not available in the given schedule, an arrangement with the librarian shall be made through email. 

3.3.The student is advised to contact the librarian first before the representative arrives at school.

3.4.  The use of third-party delivery service is allowed for the  convenient pick procedure however the service fee shall be shouldered by the requestor.

3.5.  Booking of the third-party delivery service shall be made by the requestor.

3.6. Safety health protocols shall be observed when arriving at school.

3.7. Parking space inside the school premises are also available for the convenience of the students and parents.

4. Return the books

4.1. Books are allowed for home use for 14 days.

4.2. Books can be returned by the parent or by using the third-party delivery service.
